Can I ride a privately owned electric scooter on the road?
Generally, no. Privately owned e-scooters cannot normally be used on UK public roads, cycle lanes or pavements. Authorised rental trials operate under specific rules. Outside those schemes, use private land only with the landowner’s permission and check for any change in the law.
What makes an e-bike road legal in the UK?
An electrically assisted pedal cycle must meet the applicable power, assistance-speed, pedal and age rules. Machines outside that classification may be treated as motor vehicles and need registration, insurance and other requirements. Always check the exact production specification—not just the product name.
How accurate is the advertised range?
Range is a planning estimate, not a promise. Rider weight, gradient, stop-start riding, speed, temperature, tyre pressure, wind and riding mode can change it significantly. Build a sensible reserve into every route.
What does “peak power” mean?
Peak power is the short burst a motor and controller can produce under certain conditions. Nominal or continuous power describes sustained output. We show both where they are supplied because one number alone rarely tells the full story.
Will my bike or scooter arrive assembled?
It depends on the model and delivery service. Some machines arrive nearly ready, while others need handlebars, pedals or controls fitted and checked. The product and dispatch information will explain what is required. Complete every supplied pre-ride check before use.
Can I ride in the rain?
Check the product’s stated water-resistance rating. Water resistant does not mean waterproof. Avoid immersion, deep standing water, pressure washing and charging while the machine or charge port is wet.
How should I charge the battery?
Use only the approved charger. Charge in a ventilated area on a stable, non-flammable surface, away from escape routes. Inspect the charger, cable, port and battery before use, and never charge a damaged, swollen or unusually hot battery.
How should I store it?
Follow the manufacturer’s temperature and charge-level guidance, especially for long storage. Keep the machine dry, secure and away from extreme heat or cold. Do not leave a lithium battery fully discharged for extended periods.
Do you offer finance?
Finance options will only appear when an approved provider is connected and a product qualifies. Any finance is subject to status, lender checks and separate terms. Never assume an option is available until it is shown during checkout.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Stop using the machine if the issue could affect safety. Contact us with your order number, serial number, clear description and useful photos or video. Do not dismantle a battery or ship one until we provide safe instructions.
